About me

I AM A CANDIDATE IN THE COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

I am Miina-Anniina Heiskanen - Mother, Vice Chair of the Oulu City Board, City Councillor and Deputy Member of Parliament.

The issues that are important to me in politics are the issues of families with children, education, the economy, employment and well-being. My educational path has been in the city of Oulu from early childhood education to university.

In Oulu municipal politics, I particularly advocate for families with children, working people and students. Oulu must have functional services, such as a school network that meets needs, good sports and cultural services and smooth public transport. Oulu is a successful, international city, for which we need more international experts. As a defender of human rights and equality, I want everyone to feel safe in Oulu.

I grew up surrounded by a sign language culture through my grandparents. It is a great wealth, the basis for my values and a useful skill in life.

Effective welfare services are the foundation of a good life. We should invest in primary healthcare in particular. People should have access to care when they need it. The resources and services for caregivers should be improved. We need more low-threshold mental health services, such as walk-in mental health services.
